  Whether you are planning to become a licensed real estate representative or as a Real Estate Professional you want to continue improving your real estate skills, the M.R.E.A. offers a number of education alternatives for our members. This part of our site details courses available to you.

Becoming a Real Estate Agent

To become a Real Estate Agent you have to take three Salesperson Licensing courses: Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3. After successful completion you become a fully licensed Real Estate Agent. These three courses are completed with a text book and a workbook. They are also available to be taken online.

    Additional Mandatory Articling Courses

    In addition to Phase 1, 2, 3 courses, within 1 year of completion you must also successfully complete two additional courses. They are: Real Property Law and Principals of Appraisal. Real Property Law is mandatory, however, if you are going to become licensed as a Commercial Real Estate Professional then the Principles of Commercial Real Estate course can be substituted for the Principals of Appraisal course. Both the Real Property Law and Principals of Appraisal courses are completed with a text book and a workbook and are also available to be taken online.

    Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) (required completion each year)

    In order for you to retain your Real Estate Licence, you are required to complete before licence renewal a 1, full day-long course. These courses are held in numerous centers across Manitoba. View upcoming MCE courses, their locations and the registration form.

     
    Additional Courses For Real Estate Professionals

    Once you have become a fully licensed Real Estate Agent, the MREA offers many additional courses to help you have a successful Real Estate Career.

    A certificate program which offers 7 optional courses:

  • Principles of Property Management
  • Principles of Commercial Real Estate
  • Agriculture Real Estate in Manitoba
  • Condominium Sales in Manitoba
  • Principles of Mortgage Financing
  • Residential Construction in Manitoba
  • Valuation Reporting Skills

    The Broker's Licensing Education Program consisting of 3 Courses:

  • Real Estate Office Management
  • Accounting and Financial Management
  • Risk Management

    Market Value Appraiser-Residential Professional Designation

    MVA is a professional designation for those who have demonstrated practical and current experience in the local real estate market and have completed a prescribed education program in the field of residential appraisal. Read more information here.

     
    Become a Property Manager

    To become a Property Manager you have to take the Principles of Property Management, competency-based, course designed for property managers. This program recognizes the unique requirements of property managers, tenants, and landlords in an increasingly sophisticated marketplace. Tenants and landlords need, expect, and deserve different perspectives and expertise from property managers as compared with residential salespeople and brokers. Interested?
