Manitoba Tipi Mitawa - A Quality of Life Initiative

First Nations people who reside in urban centres in Manitoba will have a greater opportunity to own their homes and improve their lives this year, thanks to an innovative home ownership program believed to be the first of its kind in Canada, developed by the Manitoba Real Estate Association in partnership with the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs.      View the Full Media Release

A press conference launching Manitoba Tipi Mitawa was hosted in Winnipeg January 18th

 

Manitoba Housing Minister Gord Macintosh announces $400,000 in government funding for the first phase of the program.

 

AMC Grand Chief Ron Evans says the program will help break the cycle of poverty faced by some First Nations people.

 

Winnipeg MP Rod Bruinooge said this initiative is a model for communities across the country.
